IPAF Training Courses

  • IPAF PAL+

IPAF has developed the PAL+ training course in response to demand from UK contractors for training that better prepares operators of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) for work in higher risk or challenging environments.

  • IPAF Instructor Training

This five day course is designed for experienced operators who wish to become IPAF instructors. All delegates must meet the course entry criteria.

  • IPAF Demonstrator Training

This course is designed for people who need to demonstrate the control functions and safety features of a MEWP to a trained operator. This training programme has the same machine categories as the operator programme.

  • IPAF MEWP’s for Managers

This course is designed for Managers and Supervisors who are involved in the planning and supervision of work involving MEWP’s. The course covers risk assessment and method statement writing, rescue plans, hazards and responsibilities.

  • IPAF Harness Training

This half day course is to instruct the users of harnesses within MEWP’s including inspection, correct selection and fitting.

  • IPAF Loading/Unloading

This is for delivery drivers who are loading and unloading access machinery.

  • IPAF PAV Training

This half day course is for the users of machines which are pushed into position and only travel in the vertical plane.

  • IPAF 3b Operator Training

This IPAF operator course is for the users of ‘Mobile Boom’ machines (commonly known as Cherry Pickers). This machine is driven to it’s place of work, will elevate without the use of legs and can also be driven whilst elevated.

  • IPAF 3a Operator Training

This IPAF operator course is for users of ‘Mobile Vertical’ machines (commonly known as Scissor Lifts). These machines are driven in to the work location and will elevate without the need for legs. These machines can be driven whilst elevated.

  • IPAF 1a Operator Training

This IPAF Operator course is for users of ‘Static Vertical’ machines. These machines are driven to the place of work and then elevated vertically once the legs have been deployed.

  • IPAF 1b Operator Training

This IPAF operator course is for the users of ‘Static Boom’ machines. These machines are driven or pushed into their work location and will elevate once the legs have been deployed. Due to this being a boom type, the machine will have a telescopic and turning function.
